Rope hat

Snapback
Named for the adjustable plastic snap at the back. One size covers most heads, the brim can be flat or curved, and the structured front holds a logo well. The default modern golf cap for a reason.
Trucker hat
A foam or fabric front with a mesh back panel. The mesh moves a lot of air, so truckers are the pick on hot, humid days when a full-fabric cap gets sweaty. A bit more casual, a bit less structured.
Fitted cap
No strap or snap - you buy your exact size and it sits clean with no gap at the back. It's the tidiest look and what you'll see plenty of in tournaments. The trade-off is you need to know your head size, and there's no adjustment.
